.WOODY GUTHRIE’S “maker” killed fascists– or so America’s excellent dust-bowl balladeer wrote on his guitar. Jack White’s electrical machine “files suit fascists”, composed the frontman of The White Stripes on Instagram on September 9th. The “fascist” is actually Donald Trump, that just recently used the band’s most popular song, “Seven Country Army”, in an initiative video.
Mr White wishes him to stop. He participates in a long listing of musicians who object to Mr Trump using their popular music: Abba, Celine Dion, Beyoncu00e9, Foo Fighters, the properties of Isaac Hayes as well as Sinu00e9ad O’Connor and also Johnny Marr of The Smiths– and also those are actually just the objectors from this year. (We’ve come up with a playlist of Trump-appropriated tunes.) Can they switch the popular music off?
